Frequent Questions
The Uplift Pro is a lifting chair that helps you sit down and stand up quickly and confidently using your body’s natural movement. The chair includes multiple hinging points of movement that allow you to transform the chair into a position that stands with you or sits with you as you move.
For the best experience, it is highly recommended that users are between 150 lbs and 325 lbs, are 5'5" tall or taller, and do not have any specific physical conditions that prevent them from leaning forward and pulling back on the armrests.
The weight range recommendation is given because the chair may not move completely into the sitting position without enough weight, and users may find that the chair moves too quickly and perhaps improperly when weight exceeds 325 lbs. The height recommendation is given because users may have a difficult time getting into the seat when the chair is in the up position if their height does not exceed 5 '5".
Despite these recommendations, all users who are able are welcome to try our chairs.
The Uplift Pro uses leverage, balance, and kinetic motion to transition from sitting to standing. By leaning forward and pulling the armrests back, the seat and backrest move upward while the leg rest moves downward. This design mimics natural movements, making transitions smooth and easy. Additionally, the Uplift Pro benefits from two gas-pressure struts housed beneath the seat, which keep the chair in a naturally upright ready position when not in use, and to ensure that movement between positions is controlled and gradual.
There are three main benefits of the Uplift Pro: speed, comfort, and capability.
Most users can stand in about 4 seconds, compared to traditional powered lift chairs that can take up to 30 seconds. That difference turns everyday moments from “maybe later” into “no problem.” Standing up to grab something from the kitchen, answer the door, or move through your day feels quick and natural.
The Uplift Pro also provides consistent, comfortable assistance every time you sit or stand, helping reduce strain and making movement feel smoother and more secure. When you have control over how you stand and how often you stand, confidence grows, and daily life feels easier.
In some cases, the Uplift Pro can be an effective substitute for a traditional lift chair.
For individuals with mild to moderate mobility difficulties, our chairs may be better suited to your lifestyle if a regular chair does not provide enough support, and an electric lift chair provides more support than required.
However, for those with significant to severe mobility difficulties, a traditional electric lift chair may still be necessary. For example, someone with advanced arthritis or severe muscular weakness might require the additional support and power provided by an electric lift chair to safely and comfortably transition from sitting to standing.
The Uplift Pro does not include a reclining feature. In the seated position, it elevates the legs to approximately a 135° angle. The chair is designed to support quick, body-assisted standing rather than extended lounging or sleeping. If leg elevation is a medical requirement, it is advised to consider a chair better suited to those needs.
The Uplift Pro is different because it will sit and stand with you as you move. This patented design is the first-of-its-kind, designed to assist movements for individuals with moderate mobility difficulties.
Unlike traditional lift chairs that use electronics, our chairs are completely electricity-free and powered by your body's natural weight and movements. And unlike non-moving chairs or sofas, support is given through every movement.
Our chairs are designed to be the solution for those who can benefit from mobility assistance but have been underserved by current options: either the slow tilting forward of traditional lift chairs or having no assistance at all.
